Many Costa students are required to take summer school in order to take electives such as yearbook, MUN, orchestra and many more. With history being the most popular class over the summer. This affects history teaches during the year. History classes are being left unfilled which causes history teachers to have to teach classes they are not experts on, such as AP psych. Students are also not gaining all of the information they would during the year. Although there are many downsides, summer school benefits Costa in many ways. All of the money MBX makes in summer school at Costa, is then donated back to our school. Making things such as the new west field, waller stadium, and the fisher gym possible. MBX summer school tryouts are in March of 2018.
