Mr. Heideman has been a teacher at Mira Costa High School for 39 years. In 2011, he was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer which has turned into Stage 4 Metatastatic Prostate Cancer of the Bone. Three students—Luke Jelmini, Noelle Thomas, and Dillon Patel— created Team Heideman to show support for Mr. Heideman and his battle against cancer, as well as raise funds for research. He has made a large impact on the people he has worked with, who are now showing their appreciation for the impact he has made. Mr. Heideman will be retiring in June this year.
