Kiteboarding, also known as kitesurfing, is a sport, in which the rider holds on to a specially designed kite while riding a modified surfboard, using the wind to propel them. The rider is wears a harness, attached to the kite, using the kite and wind to guide them through the water. With strong winds, a kite boarder can move across the water at more than 40 miles per hour and launch more than 30 feet up in the sky. The are many different styles of kiteboarding, for example freestyle, racing, and jumping. A freestyle kiteboarder focuses mostly on catching air, while wave-riding is more like regular surfing.
