At Costa, there is currently not a limit on how many AP classes that students can take. Students can choose as many classes that they can fit into their schedule from the available 15.
An AP Cap would make it so that students could only take a certain number of AP classes each year. This has been talking about on Ed Council and the topic has made its way down to the Social Emotion Wellness Committee.
This Committee consists of Costa administration, parents, teachers, and students. At their meetings, they discuss ways to improve the wellness of students on campus.
As they begin to think of new ways to help students manage their stress, an AP Cap may be the future at Mira Costa, but is not planned for the 2016-2017 school year.
