Cross Country Coach, Renee Williams-Smith, paved the road for gender equality in sports at Mira Costa. As a student of the 1979 graduating class, Williams-Smith was a part of the first girls cross country, track, and soccer teams at Mira Costa. In college, she was a member of Kansas State’s first women’s championship cross country team.
