With up to half of high school students reporting that they have been bullied, it’s no joke that bullying is a serious problem, not only on our campus but all around the world. To solve this problem at Costa, the H.E.A.R.T. Program(Helping Educate Acts of Respect Together), is working hard to create an environment where students can feel that they belong.
They come together in room 74 at AM Office Hours to work on ways to reach out to others on campus. They continually hand out ‘heart cards’ that have motivational sayings on them to encourage others to treat people with respect.
H.E.A.R.T. has big plans this year and has been making significant strides in getting their name across campus. Most recently, they were chosen to be featured on Good Morning America in their week long segment on kindness and programs at schools nationwide that are spreading this message.
