Students are misinformed by the myth that going to a brand-name prestigious college will give them a leg up in the work force. A local Manhattan Beach business owner and employer explained that in order to employ students to make bio-medical machinery and software, a certain expertise in the field is required. In order to ensure that the software is made to par, a school that is known for having a strong science and engineering field is ideal in a student applying for a job. Although these attributes are important, many other characteristics are necessary to be a part of any work place. Being able to follow deadlines, be a self-starter, and solve problems on your own are just some of the important life skills required for work.
