With only 200 spots available, and nearly 500 applicants, most Mira Costa students are left to find parking off campus. Parking spots in the student lot are only available to upperclassmen, and seniors receive 2/3rd’s of the passes while juniors are left with the remaining 50 spots. The lack of parking spots on campus lead students to have to park on the streets or leave early to attempt to get a spot in the district lot.
Next year, administration is changing the parking pass distribution system. During sign-ups in May, parking passes will only be available to seniors.
