The moment that everyone gets a first glance at the yearbook is an exciting one; but it is even more special for the staff responsible. The staff members initially joined yearbook because of their passion for writing and designing, but as the years have gone on, it has helped them get more involved with the school. Throughout the year, the staff works hard by taking thousands of pictures and getting hundreds of quotes from students to fill the book. The Hoofprints’ staff is responsible for meeting a fall, winter, and spring deadline to ensure that the book is done by mid-May and ready to be handed out by the end of the year. They spend time inside and outside of the classroom designing each page differently. When the books arrive and it’s time for the staff to have their first glance at a hard copy of their hard work, they close all of the doors in the yearbook room and gather around the boxes in the middle of the room. Then, they each take a book and flip through it to see the finished product of what made all of their time and effort worth it.
