From this year compared to last year, attendance throughout the Manhattan Beach Unified School District has dipped. This in turn, means that the district is losing money for each student that is absent.
The district can lose anywhere from $38-$47 per student each day that they’re absent from school. The numbers can add up very quickly, such as on a day like Senior Ditch Day.
For more information and statistics, this report put out by the school district helps explain in detail what the numbers are and the significance of it.
