Manhattan Beach Unified School District is the number five school district in Los Angeles. Costa’s reputation is what attracts many people from out of the district to permit in. Permit students are students who do not live within the areas of their school district. Most students, sacrifice living close to their school for a better education. But many students are unaware of the sacrifices these teenagers face every day. Mira Costa requires a minimum 3.0 to be considered for a permit into Manhattan Beach Unified School District. The process is very long and difficult, however after talking with several students who went through the process, they all said that in the end, it was worth it.
