Teen Activism and the Midterms
October 11, 2018
The 2018 Midterm elections are on November 6th. These elections are held every 4 years, near the midpoint of a president’s four year term. The U.S. Senate has 51 Republicans and 49 Democrats (including two independents). There are 35 seats up in this election, and 26 are currently held by Democrats. These election results can affect heath care plans, gun reform, the criminal justice system, woman rights, and many more. If you are currently 16 years old, you are old enough to register to vote, and when you are 18, you can legally vote.
