Bird Scooters Banned in local areas
November 27, 2018
As of August 21st, 2018, the city of Manhattan Beach temporarily banned the use of electric scooters. You need to be 18 years or older and have a valid drivers license to rent an electric scooter such as Bird or Lime. To rent a scooter, you download the app “Bird” or “Lime”, create an account and enter a credit card. For the Bird Scooters, it costs $1 per mile you ride the scooter. The average mph of a Bird scooter is 25, getting people place to place in a timely manner. The city of Manhattan Beach also took away the Downtowner last year after 10 months of the program, leaving the city without any public transportation.
