The city of Hawthorne has implemented futsal courts with the help of Hawthorne Police Department,  Gyasi Zardes , a professional soccer player and Chevrolet.  Zardes wanted to give back to the community that he grew up in. This program brings kids from throughout the community together and share there love for the sport. These pickup games take place every Wednesday at 4pm at the Hawthorne Memorial Park.
