Affirmative Action

Affirmative action is a policy created by universities that creates an equal playing field to minorities and other discriminated groups within the US. This helps ensure greater diversity inside colleges. This year, Asian American students sued Harvard because of its unfair affirmative action policies against them. Affirmative action has been one of the many factors that affects acceptance to jobs, colleges, and other programs. But many students do not fully understand what it is. Julia DiGregorio and Shay Mishra talk to the students most affected by affirmative action and discover why it’s so controversial.
