Volleyball is core to the identity of Manhattan Beach, with beach volleyball actually originating from here. Each year Manhattan Beach hosts the “grandaddy” of beach volleyball tournaments called the Manhattan Open. The tournament attracts over 60,000 fans annually. This attraction is huge for local businesses and influences hundreds of teens and young athletes.
