This upcoming election there are two different propositions on the ballot that will affect California education if passed. Prop 30 backed by Governor Jerry Brown and Prop 38 endorsed by Molly Munger are two bills that are being voting on November 11. Only one bill can pass and if neither pass there will be an additional 6 billion dollar cut from the California budget that would normally go to education. While prop 30 focuses on putting more money in California’s overall budget while prop 38 creates a new trust fund for California education.
While our MBPTSA has decided to support Prop 38 California teacher’s association has decided to back prop 30.
