On Monday morning, anonymous threats made through app “Yik Yak” caused the school to go into a 1-hr lock in place. After the campus was cleared, students returned to their classes for the day. Later on Monday afternoon, additional threats were posted. Principal Dr. Dale decided to cancel classes on Tuesday, 11/18 and Wednesday, 11/19. Classes are to resume on Thursday.
The suspect has not been found, but the Manhattan Beach Police Department is conducting an investigation.
UPDATE: 11/19/14 5:00 p.m. – One suspect has been found; the MBPD has confirmed this. Safety precautions are still in place for school on Thursday.
