Los Angeles Football Club, also known as LAFC, was recently added to US Major League Soccer. The creation of this club has been in discussion for several years, but they are competing for the first time in the 2018 season. Representing LA, their home stadium is located outside Downtown Los Angeles. The Banc of California Stadium will be complete in April of 2018 and will hold twenty two thousand fans. The team’s first home game on the new grass is on April 29th, opening day of the stadium. The fans were able to voice their opinions for the design of the stadium, and the fans play an active role in the club as well. They react with the franchise on a personal level, connecting with the head coaches and with the players. Ownership of the club includes many Hollywood A-Listers like Will Ferrell, Mia Hamm, Magic Johnson, and many more. The team started off its first ever game with a win over the Seattle Sounders, and fans will look to support LAFC’s successes for decades to come.
