About ten years ago, the district made the decision to cut pep, which is also known as Pre-Kindergarten. As a result of this, the students of that year had an abnormally large class size and were unable to enjoy some privileges that the other years were offered. This class is now the freshman class at Mira Costa, and in order to make sure that the amount of students is accommodated for, administration has had to make a few adjustments.
These numbers should give you an idea of just how many students are freshman this year.
