The Paralympic games have been around since 1960, but recently, sports like swimming have been getting more attention. The Paralympics are for disabled athletes who need an outlet to compete in that is fair. Most athletes’ sports become harder because their disability impairs their ability to perform well. A local south bay Paralympic swimmer, Serafina King, has had brachial plexus in her shoulder since birth which classifies her as a S10 Paralympic swimmer. Serafina shares how Paralympic swimming has changed her lifer the better.
