The formal definition of senioritis, according to the Webster dictionary, is “a supposed affliction of students in their final year of high school or college, characterized by a decline in motivation or performance”. As the end of high school progresses, many students tend not to attend class for various reasons. According to a survey conducted by the Mustang Morning News of a portion of the senior class, 63% said that the main reason that they do not go to class is because they do not feel motivated and that participating in classes was not productive. It seems that with years of experience in high school many students feel that they can be independent so they are able to maintain their grades. Some even say that they have improved compared to the previous years.
