Future of Libraries

Jake Spelke and Brenly Parker

As technology continues to advance, libraries change as well to incorporate the use of technology in such a digital age. After not having textbooks for almost an entire semester, Mira Costa students and teachers had to adapt and change the way they teach and learn material. The United States Department of Labor recently conducted a survey called the American Time Use Survey which accounts for what activities United States Citizens choose too spend their time doing. In this study they found that the amount of Americans who read in their leisure time has decreased by 30% since 2004. This changes the purpose of library from a house of books to a more interactive space.
