The Problem: It’s already 2 weeks past Christmas and you’re still stuck with presents you couldn’t return. What to do?
Solution number 1:
Say your grandma got you a giftcard to Sports authority when really you wanted a giftcard to American Apparel. The simple solution would be to use websites such as The Plastic Jungle or Gift Card Rescue which allow you to exchange a giftcard for another one or exchange it for cash.
Solution number 2:
Your “trash” could be someone else’s treasure. Sell your gifts on websites such as Ebay or Amazon where you have a plethora of buyers that may be interested in your unwanted gifts.
Solution number 3:
If you received clothing or trinkets you really don’t want to hold on to, you can discuss with friends if they also got some. If this is the case, you can hold a little gift exchange party to exchange your unwanted gifts.
Solution number 4:
If neither of the last options sound appealing, you could always donate your gifts to a Goodwill or a homeless shelter where someone else may be able to appreciate them more than you.
Solution number 5:
Save the gift and regift it! Remember, just because something isn’t YOUR taste doesn’t mean that it might not be pleasing to another friend or relative.
