Managing Social Media

Quincie Crandall, Social Media Director

Social Media has had an undeniable impact on both kids and adults over the years. Because kids are so impressionable at a young age, social media has a larger impact on their lives. They tend to relate their self worth to the number of likes or comments they receive on posts. This creates an unhealthy sense of self and leads to comparisons between themself and others. This is an issue now more than ever, because kids have less face-to-face interaction due to COVID-19, so they rely on virtual communication, often being social media. With no other forms of connection, the reliance on social media has only grown stronger, and it becomes a serious addiction. This story is very important because it is a real issue affecting every teenager in the country, and I’m glad I was able to shed light on such a pressing topic.
