Football’s back in season! Therefore, the best snacks and treats for watching a game is a necessity. Here are four perfect Game Day recipes.
1. Peanut Butter Football Cookies
What you need:
- 1 pouch of Betty Crocker peanut butter cookie mix
- Vegetable Oil
- Eggs
- Water
- 1 tub of Chocolate Frosting
- 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
- white frosting decoration tube
First, preheat the oven to 375 degrees and follow the instructions on the package to make the cookie dough. Roll the dough into 1 1/2 size balls and press into ovals on cookie sheet.
Next, bake for 8 to 10 minutes and let completely cool. Stir the chocolate icing and peanut butter until blended.
Lastly, spread the icing onto the cookies and use the white frosting to create the laces.
2. Touch Down Fiesta Dip
What you need:
- 2 containers of guacamole
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 large yellow bell pepper
- 1 baby cut carrot
- 2 pretzel nuggets
- broccoli florets
- grape tomatoes
First, spread the guacamole onto a rectangular platter and spoon the sour cream into a zip-lock bag (this is how you will write the goal lines and numbers).
Then, cut six strips of yellow pepper to make the goal posts (use sour cream to stick the top pepper onto the two standing ones) and cut a carrot in half to make the penalty cones. Place the broccoli and grape tomatoes on either side to make the side lines. Serve with pretzel nuggets.
3. Crescent Jalapeno Home Run Bites
What you need:
- 4 jalapeno chiles
- 1/3 cup Boursin cheese with garlic and herbs
- 8 slices of packaged bacon
- 1 can of Pillsbury crescent rolls
- 1/2 cup of salsa
First, preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cut the jalapeno peppers down the middle (lengthwise) and then again horizontally. Spoon 1 teaspoon of cheese into each of the four jalapenos and then wrap in bacon.
Next, roll out the crescents and cut the 8 triangles from the longest side to the opposite point so that you have 16 smaller triangles of dough. Place the jalapenos (cheese facing down) into each dough triangle and wrap the points over the jalapeno.
Lastly, cook for 12 to 15 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet. Serve to your guests with salsa!
4. Pizza Chez Mix
What you need:
- 1 bag of traditional chex mix
- 1 cup of mini pepperoni
- 1 cup cubed mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shaved parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley or basil
All you have to do is put all the materials into a large bowl!
