Dr. Dale hosts a “Community Coffee” once a month for parents and teachers to ask questions and get face time with their principal. When Dr. Dale first came to Mira Costa, these meetings served as a “getting to know your new principal” forum where citizens of Manhattan Beach were encouraged to ask questions and make connections. These meetings started out with an attendance of hundreds; parents, teachers, and students alike would gather at a volunteer’s house and meet with Dr. Dale.
Aside from the “adult” connections, Dr. Dale wanted his students to get a better idea of who he was as well. Each week a group of students are picked randomly by the vice principal to attend “lunch with the principal” every Wednesday. Lunch is provided and the selected students are welcome to bring a friend.
Take a look at how these meetings benefit the school’s students and teachers.
