Waves crashing in the background, the faint murmur of ukuleles off in the distance and a plume volcanic ash rising to the heavens. You look up at the sunset stricken sky and realize that this is where you belong. This paradise of beauty is where you were meant to spend the rest of you days. But where are you? Where is this magical place where you can be amongst nature and it’s absolute perfection. That’s right this heaven on Earth is….
A Botanical Garden.
But not just any Botanical Garden. The National Tropical Botanical Garden located in the in the heart of the Hawaiian Jungle. This paradise is just a hop, skip and a jump away from The Kampong the scene of my last Botanical Adventure.
But you must be asking yourself what makes this botanical garden different from the last? I mean there all boring trees anyway.
And to that I show you this
And then I drop the mic.
What more is needed? You have material for your snapchat stories, serene backdrops for profile pictures and a sense of being in touch with nature. Sounds like heaven to me.
This paradise also known as the Allerton Garden, was bought in 1938 by founder Robert Allerton, who dedicated his time and money into transforming it into the optimal Hawaiian Paradise. He along with John Gregg…..
I feel like I’m losing you, so I will skip the history lesson and go straight to cool pictures you might be able to snag while you’re there.
Ok now that I have regained your interest time for a pop quiz.
What is the name of this tree featured in films like Lost, Magnum P.I. and Hawaii Five-O.
You have your answer?
Yup you got it, its a Banyan Tree. Much like the one that we experienced in The Kampong in Miami Beach.
And if pictures, history and nature aren’t driving you to come visit, maybe Stardom will.
The Allerton Gardens have been used for many block-buster movies like Pirates of the Caribbean, and Jurassic Park. So if you ever wondered what was like being a blood thirsty dinosaur or a drunken savvy pirate who doesn’t follow the rules, then it looks like botanical gardens are the place for you.
Alas. If you can’t find any reason, not one at all to come and experience the beauty that a Botanical Garden has to offer. Then you have stumped me. There is no other way that I can convince you to visit a Botanical Garden…
SIKE.
There always more.
If you thought that Botanical Gardens were only trees and plants looks like your wrong. The Allerton Garden is one of the only in the world, to be located on a beach. So whip out that bikini and speedo because things just got beachy.
If after all of this you still can’t find something that flips your pancake. Why not just take a majestic picture on a bridge and call it a day.
