Since Christmas is right around the corner (and I do mean that literally) it’s time to sit yourself down and watch some quality Christmas movies till it turns midnight on December 25th. Consider this a challenge to fulfill for yourself (and to share with your family) this holiday season. And since there are so many Christmas movies to pick from out there I have come up with a list of top 5 picks of the classics.
1. Home Alone
In this movie Macaulay Culkin plays Kevin, an 8 year old boy who is left at home alone while his parents leave on trip to France. This story is a classic comedy that will have the entire family falling out of their seats before the night is over.
2. Elf
A comedy isn’t complete without Will Ferrell hysterically screaming about something in a character he plays. In this movie “Buddy the elf” has come down from the North Pole in search of his father, but out that there is much more to the world outside the North Pole than what he thought.
3. A Christmas Story
If you’re searching for a classic Christmas story it doesn’t get more classic than this. Here Peter Billingsley plays the young boy “Ralphie” who wants nothing more for Christmas than a Red Ryder B.B Gun and will do anything and everything to convince his parents, teacher, and Santa that it is the perfect gift for him.
4. The Nightmare Before Christmas
This classic Tim Burton film displays the character of the pumpkin king “Jack Skelington” who has grown so tired of his Halloween world and decides to take on the job of Santa Clause, but not everything goes according to his plan.
5. The Santa Clause
This is one of my personal favorites. In this movie Tim Allen plays the workaholic “Scott Calvin” who accidentally kills Santa Clause on Christmas Eve, causing him to take his place. This job swap causes Scott to realize what is most important in his life and to fight for them
