The restaurant LocoL is located in Watts, where food is limited and decent paying jobs are hard to come across. Jonathan Gold, LA Times food critic ranked this restaurant on the 101 Best Restaurant List in LA. LocoL aims at bettering the community by serving good food and having a place for the residents to rally around (since restaurants, businesses, and grocery stores are scarce). LocoL provides a sense of community for the Watts people, somewhere where they can eat, watch their favorite sports games, and hang out. They pay higher than the minimum wage, and they mainly hire residents of Watts. Camille Murray and Adriana Gutierrez head over to Watts to see how LocoL affects the community.
