My first bite of cheesy pizza warmed my insides with the tastes of sweet tomatoes; roasted basil and steaming melted mozzarella. The thin slice of pizza had an excellent buttery crust, which was just enough to pacify my hunger. The scent of the bubbling hot pizza is greasy and makes me feel like I’m biting into a big new york slice. To cool my mouth down I indulged in a crisp, crunchy salad of arugula lettuce with creamy goat cheese, sweet caramelized walnuts, and the perfect tang of vinaigrette dressing. The combination created my idea of a perfectly balance meal.
Bottega Louie in downtown Los Angeles has an excellent variety of meals and a far from boring ambiance which combines old Los Angeles with a hip New York loft. The bustling sound of chatter and satisfied costumers fills the air around me. Stepping into the lively restaurant my eyes feast on the beautiful array of freshly baked goods in the on-site bakery. Who would’ve thought a restaurant with food so savory could also satisfy a sweet tooth?
Other items to choose from include Bottega Louie traditional BLT served on buttery toasted sour dough bread. The sandwich perfectly combines salty bacon with refreshing tomatoes and crunchy lettuce. People around me are eating everything from juicy American cheeseburgers to long stringy spaghetti drenched in marinara sauce. With glass windows protecting the kitchen it is fun and easy to see all the chefs and staff at work. Although the trendy restaurant is often crowded, the large space and plethora of tables makes the wait only a few minutes. Price range on the menu goes from around $10 to as high as $50 if you’re looking to splurge on a filet mignon. Bottega Louie is the perfect restaurant to try with a group, its trendy, delicious, lively and can easily please everyone.
