Hidden amidst a construction zone on Pier Avenue, the newly established Source Café is easily overlooked; but its healthful, yet flavorful, array of food is sure to please.
Source Café is known for its variety of vegan, gluten-free, and vegetarian-friendly foods, but is a hit even for meat-lovers. The menu contains three sections: “edible garden,” “drinkable garden,” and “coffee & tea” – pretty self-explanatory. Most dishes are meatless, apart from the Turkey Panini, a personal favorite. Layered in creamy avocado, sundried tomatoes, and a garlic aioli, each savory flavor compliments the other perfectly. Every component of Source’s food is made fresh daily, and fruits and veggies are locally grown when possible, from fresh arugula to an assortment of baked goods – scones, toast, cookies, and breads. From top to bottom, this menu is a home run.
Unfortunately, the raw, earthy feel is accompanied with overly expensive prices. For a healthy treat every once in a while, Source Café is a go-to, but is not adequate for a daily meal.
For more information and a peak at their menu, visit Source Café’s website, or stop in any day of the week from 7 am to 7 pm.
