Located near a central corner in Westchester, Italy’s Little Kitchen is a local favorite for many families in the neighborhood. Once you step inside you feel the warmth of a small pasta house.
On a Saturday night we arrived at the restaurant without reservations. We were notified about the twenty minute wait, which we thought was reasonable for a popular restaurant of this size. Because of the number of people waiting, we went outside until we were called. The main dining room was filled with a party of fifteen so we were seated in the smaller patio section. Unfortunately, the view of Taco Bell made the experience less desirable and some of the Italian ambiance was lost.
Though we sat in the corner, we did not feel forgotten. A main highlight of Italy’s is the timely service. We quickly ordered our California Pasta and Spinach Ravioli Pillow dishes. California Pasta is served
with crisp roasted artichoke hearts and sweet creamy marinara sauce sprinkled with goat cheese. The sauce was balanced, with the perfect amount of cream. The artichoke hearts were chewy on the outside, but melted like butter on the inside. Spinach Pillows aren’t served in all Italian restaurants, but Italy’s offers this delicious dish on their menu. Served al dente with the perfect balance of ricotta cheese and spinach filling, Ravioli Pillows are one of my personal favorites. Expect to spend about thirteen dollars on a less expensive dish such as this one.
Overall I rate the food delicious and the ambiance moderate. I recommend this restaurant because of its family friendly atmosphere and great food. For more info visit their website.
